Hampton Court Palace is filled with stories and treasures to discover, giving the palace its unique romantic appeal, but with reminders of its turbulent past at every turn. With this ticket you now get access to the palace and can explore over 500 years of history at your own pace.
For most people it's hard to think of Hampton Court Palace without thinking of Henry VIII. While you're here, you can visit Henry VIII's Apartments and the Great Hall, where Anne Boleyn - his second wife - danced with him. And if that sounds intriguing to you, you can walk in the king's footsteps and visit the Royal Pew: Here you see a re-creation of his magnificent crown. You can also pay the Kitchens a visit and hear all about how the royals lived an absolutely excessive life style.
The on-site Chapel Royal is absolutely stunning and worth a visit - it shines with gold and blue details. However, the royal family would never sit in the main body of the church. Instead, the kings and queens always used a private pew on first-floor level, which looks down upon the main body of the chapel.
While visiting you can also spend time walking around the beautiful gardens and the stunning maze. On average, it takes 20 minutes to reach the centre of the maze - so make sure to take your time!
